Usually when the Installation Manager (IM) is reporting that incorrect operating system is in use, it indicates that the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager (IM) is running in “compatibility mode.”
Please try the following:
There are 3 possible .exe files that could cause this.
- exe (the file that is downloaded),
- exe (launches the IM),
- exe (the actual installation manager)
Right click on each .exe and select Properties, then select -> Compatibility tab; ensure that it is not set to “run as XP.” If it is, unselect this option and then re-run the installation.
